We're delighted you've found us! Make yourself entirely at home; away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. Château du Tirondet, a wonderful place to completely unwind and recharge. Our estate is located in the Creuse, in the heart of "rural France." A tranquil region where it's delightful to take things slow amidst nature. Château du Tirondet's estate spans over 27 hectares and features an extensive garden surrounded by meadows where Charolais cows graze.
At the end of the old driveway, you'll discover this mini-village on the former aristocratic estate, complete with a chapel, old tenant houses, the manor house, the old bakehouse with an intact bread oven, and barns where livestock once stood. It has now been transformed into a small-scale holiday domain with several luxurious, fully-equipped holiday homes, all while offering the ultimate natural experience and ample privacy.
From the garden, you can immediately access the 13-hectare private forest with various hiking trails where you can roam freely. For a slightly longer walk, you can venture into the French countryside of Creuse, characterized by numerous hedgerows and small ponds you encounter amidst châteaux, manor houses, and small villages. Walk in complete tranquility and enjoy the silence. After the walk or bike ride, you can relax on the estate by the heated swimming pool (open from May 1st to September 15th) or on the terrace, where you can join us for a meal on certain days of the week.
The nearest village, Sannat, has a neighborhood shop run by volunteers for small groceries and local products such as cheeses, jams, honey, and beer. Less than 15 kilometers away are larger villages with supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and markets. We offer a bread and breakfast service, so you can have fresh bread, croissants, or a well-stocked breakfast basket ready for you every morning, just as you like it! Be our guest, and we look forward to your arrival!
Creuse is a beautiful green department where mass tourism is still unknown but where there is plenty to see and do. In addition to hiking or cycling, you can engage in water sports, climbing, visit towns, castles, or museums. Or, of course, a French market. We'll be happy to provide you with insider tips, and all tourist information and brochures are available from us.
During the high season (July and August), you can book by the week, with arrivals on Saturdays. We welcome you with a buffet of soup, bread, cheeses, and salads, so you don't have to worry about food after your journey. Outside of the high season, you can arrive from Monday to Saturday, and the minimum stay is two nights.
Outside of the high season, we cook twice a week for our guests, from June 1st to September 15th.
